Workshops Currently Offered

Artist books are a unique way to create an artwork which resembles, either closely or loosely, the form of a book. Learn how to create a rage of book styles from a single sheet of A3 paper as well as matchbox books and scrolls. After learning multiple construction techniques participants will then spend the remainder of the session drawing, painting, printing or collaging to complete their artist book or books. 

This workshops runs for 1.5 - 2 hours and is suitable for all art and book lovers 8 years and older.

Nature Journaling is a way to view the natural world around you by recording your observations using words, pictures, measurements, questions and more. This practice helps us to slow down and admire the beauty and wonder of our natural world.  

We will talk about what prompts you can use to get you started. You will also discover tips for identifying and drawing the natural environment around you. 

In this workshop you will be given a Nature journaling kit and shown techniques, tips and resources to get you started on this journey of discovery. 

This workshops runs for 2 hours and is suitable for all nature lovers 8 years and older. 

Our workshop presenter will guide you to create a unique artwork based on a page from a discarded book.  You will learn how to use patterns and colours to achieve a harmonious artwork.   Basic watercolour techniques will be introduced in this course along with the application of metallic inks.

Once you have the basics down, get lost in the meditative nature of this simple yet effective art form.  Trace, pattern and paint your way to relaxation.

This workshop usually runs for 90 minutes but can be tailored to suit your needs.  

Suitable for Adults or children over 6 years.

Immerse yourself in a variety of one-off printing techniques that you can reproduce at home. This includes reusing everyday items like; cling wrap, leaves, bubble wrap, cardboard rolls, cutlery and kids toys. 

Learn simple up-cycling hacks for creating artworks suitable for gallery or scrapbook.  

Spend your workshop time immersed in experimenting or work towards developing a finished artwork.

This workshop usually runs for 2 hours but can be tailored to suit your needs. 

Suitable for Adults or children over 6 years.

This workshop will give you the foundation for Gelli plate printing. 

Learn a range of techniques and experiment with different materials, textures and papers. We will use traditional materials as well as everyday items such as; cling wrap, bubble wrap, cardboard, stencils,  leaves and even feathers. 

Once you have the basics down you can spend your workshop time immersed in experimenting or work towards developing a finished artwork.  

This workshop usually runs for between 1.5 to 2 hours but can be tailored to suit your needs.  

Suitable for Adults or children over 8 years.

Discover how to spot the potential for jewellery in everyday objects. You will learn techniques to transform board games pieces, toys and everyday items into your own unique jewellery. 

We can also teach you how to make miniature book earrings from re-purposed materials.

The workshop usually runs for 2 hours but can be tailored to suit your needs.

Suitable for Adults or children over 8 years.

Immerse yourself in a variety of mono-printing techniques that you can reproduce at home.  

You will use everyday items like fruit, leaves, bubble wrap, cardboard rolls and even cutlery to create fun patterns on your choice of a reusable tote bag or pencil case.

This workshop usually runs for 90 minutes but can be tailored to suit your needs.

As a Queensland registered school teacher in Visual Art, I can tailor a workshop to meet National Curriculum requirements for primary or high school.  Please contact me for further details on a specific year level.  

School workshops are affordably priced to allow as many students access to visual art as possible.  We bring all the art equipment.  All that is needed are are tables, chairs and water.

We also run end of year workshops at Brisbane primary schools and can customise a program to suit your school's needs.

In this workshop you will transform recycled materials into unique and one-of-a-kind books.  

We offer a range of Japanese Stab and Coptic book binding techniques.  All recycled materials and tools are provided. 

The workshops run for 2 to 2.5 hours depending on the techniques taught.
